Hi all,

I was trying to render & burn a wedding video to DVD when I encountered the error message within Encore DVD 1.5. The screen shots are shown below :

I rendered the timeline in Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 choosing the MPEG2-DVD option & it rendered successfully.

I imported this rendered video into Encore DVD 1.5, added chapter points, imported menus designed in Adobe Photoshop & checked the project for any errors before I hit the final render button, which renders the audio file & burns it to DVD. But halfway as you can see in the second screenshot, the error message came out & the render was stopped. I've been doing these same steps hundreds of times with other projects without a hitch, until now.

Please help me solve this problem as I have to deliver this wedding DVD to my client very soon. Thank you in advance.

Is it possible, that your audio is 32kHz/12bit/stereo instead 48kHz/16bit/stereo?
Decoding error usually means that Encore transcoder (WAV -> AC3) cannot open audio for proper transcoding. Check your Premiere audio export settings, 48kHz/16 bit is only way for DVD.
Second...if your MPEG2 bitrate is lower than 8000kb/s then you can try to use uncompressed audio - "uncheck" audio transcoding in Encore settings or preferencies. This makes DVD with PCM (uncompressed) audio. Your video (44min) is short enough to fit to DVD with uncompressed audio.

Hi Sebastian,

In Adobe Premiere, I already made sure that the audio was set to 48KHz/16bit/stereo & my MPEG2 bitrate was set to "uncompressed PCM". Once this MPEG2-DVD was rendered, I imported it into Encore DVD & tried to transcode the audio (.wav), but the error message popped up.

I have successfully rendered & burned many other DVD projects the same way, it's just that this time, the error message came out.

This project was in my main (C:) harddrive, so I tried copying the entire project folder into my other physical harddrive (D:) & see if I could render & burn the project from my D: drive. But the same error message came up agian.

I tried rebooting my PC & tried all the above mentioned steps again. Perhaps I can try to scan my PC for any spyware, virus, trojan. Could this be a likely factor in the error message, or an overbloated Windows XP registry?

Any other suggestions are much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Thank you very much Sebastian for the excellent weblink. I'll read through the forum replies & try to uninstall & re-install Encore again. Will let you know the outcome. Thanks again.

Regards,

Andrew
