Setting up your bag, HD-P2 in PEGZ-2

I took advantage of the sales at NAB to get a Petrol PEGZ-2 bag. Can't quite figure out how to make it work. In brief:

It appears the Tascam HD-P2 needs to be in the outer pocket so there's easy access to the top panel.

However, this means that the cables into each side (mixer in on one side, timecode on the other) interfere with the sides of the case. I can barely fit straight Neutrik XLRs in, but I'm not comfortable with the resulting sharp bend in the cable against the side of the case.

A jumper cable with a right-angle MALE connector would fix the problem, but all I find on Trew (and others) are short cables with right-angle FEMALE connectors. I suppose I can make my own short jumper cable...

Any suggestions? How do you folks set this up?

you buy eargonizer 3 or make the right angle
cables
of course you can buy shorter recorder as 722t :-)

by the way when we crated the number 2 for my hhb setup it was to short already :-)

I work with both the HD-P2 and a 302 in my bag (Petrol PEGZ-2), and everything fits well. I put the HD-P2 in the middle slot, the 302 in the front slot (closest to my body) with the lifter under it. Why do you need to get to the top of the HD-P2? I rarely need to get to those buttons and switches once we're rolling. And, there is enough give in the dividers that you can get to them if you really need to (at least the menu buttons...not the switches, but again, there is no reason to change those that I can think of.

I am thinking about getting right-angle cables for mine, too. I think all you have to do is call Trew and they can make any kind of cable you want (it may cost a bit more, but they won't take advantage of you). They may just not list them on their sales site. I think I've seen them on B&H's site, so it means Trew can get/make them for you.
