Shock Mount Recommendation

Hi Everyone,

Just picked up the oktava mk012 from sound-room based on the good reviews from this board. I'm planning to also get either a Rode NTG-2 or the AT4073a.

Can anyone recommend a good shock mount that can handle all 3 of these mics? [Keep in mind that the oktava will have the rycote BBG on top of it]. The mics will in most cases be attached to a boom.

I've been looking at the rode sm3 or the kssm...

Any thoughts?

Thank you for your time!

I second the recommendation on the 8415. But, get it with the K-Tek suspenders rather than the stock rubber bands. B&H sells it as a kit. They work 10000% better than the stock rubber bands.

i started out with the AT-8415 and still have two of t hem.

i upgraded to the sabra som ssm1 when i moved up from the oktava to the schoeps cmc6/mk41 + cut1.

i have been starting to shop around because with the cut1 filter the mic is a little bit too long/heavy for the sabra som.

i have the ktek gps shockmount. you can get it in several sizes and forms. i got mine in the kit when i got my ktek zeppelin.

i think that is what Oleg means when he says GPSS-Short Mount.

one thing about the AT-8415, the bands it comes with are a bit too soft/spongey for some peoples tastes.

b&h has made their own "kit" which is the AT-8415 and a set of bands from KTEK and this combination worked much better for me than the stock bands ever did.
