Film lab screws up my film...

It's like that time I walked by the magnet factory with all my Drama Fest tapes.

...what, are we not joking about this yet?

Sorry to hear about your footage man. What did they do to ruin it? Are they covering your expense to purchase more stock? Did you have insurance?

A friend of mine told me about this guy in his film program that lost all of his footage cause the lab screwed up as well. Unfortunately in the program they have strict rules that they can only have the cameras for 3 days straight and no re-shoots. So he basically failed the year because the lab messed up his film.

So as you can see, it can be worse. At least you get to re-shoot it.

Just wondering, how much does it usually cost to process and telecine a 400' roll of 16 or super16?

The lab claimed it to be some loading and emulsion problem. I was to furious to even comprehend what he was saying at the moment. I would have taken the film to Video Post and Transfer, but they don't process color reversal. They're going to send me a new roll of film, but I'm going to hit them with a lawyer's letterhead and invoice for paying crew and talent.

Moseph - it usally costs around $80-$100 depending on the shop.
