how do i import my 1080 i camera into a timeline with the capture from sd is there a setting to change that import someonewhere basicly i 2 different cameras im using:embarasse :dankk2:
 
Some cameras, VTRs, etc. have Down Convert options. You'll need to read your manual and find the necessary settings for your specific device. You can then digitize the HD material as a native SD file and blend perfectly with the rest of your timeline.

You can also wait on and order FCS 2. This will include FCP 6. One of FCP 6's features is that it will allow mixed formats on timelines (open timelines). Then you can bring both in at their native setting and just make necessary adjustments/compensations on the timeline. But this is a first for FCP, so how good it is, well no one's really had a chance to take it for a test drive. Good luck.

You need a Kona card or simply capture as HD and then downconvert with Compressor.
