What kind of Insurance do I need to show movie at a wedding?

I'm in the business of making short films that people show at their weddings, but now I also am providing clients with a projector/screen and will be setting it up for them at their events. I know certain reception halls demand some sort of insurance from all vendors (liability i'm guessing).

Can someone explain to me exactly what this insurance should be and whether I can get it through my regular insurance agent? Also, since I'm bringing equipment on the premises, should I get some sort of separate equipment insurance or rental insurance?
Thanks.

I think you have your answers, actually. I'd try to find an insurance rep. They are usually agents at a insurance house and they sell of portions of a larger plan. It sounds shady but it's not. Wait till you have to deal with E&O.

well no, actually .. no one said "the type you need is _____" (where blank is "rental" , "liability", or whatever else they may be called

anyone?

You definitely need liability insurance and you should insure your gear as well.

As far as using your agent, you should ask them, but shop around. I know some folks that use theirs and are happy. I approached mine, but when I spelled out what I needed, he suggestedt that I could get a better deal elsewhere.
