I talked with the guys that work with me and found the problem. The tool scratched the glass. We will correct it doing the job without the glass in the adapter and put the glass after or using a working glass during the job process and change it for the brand new glass after the job and cleaning. All new buyers will receive a perfect unit. The problem is found and solved. thanks.

No the problem is horrible quality control and lack of customer service - you're off my list of 35mm to buy, not that you were exactly on it either considering I first heard of this adapter from this thread...

I think you guys could give Adriano a break. It seems to me he has done everything to remedy the problem. He has offer bruiserbox a refund or an exchange, and he has looked into what caused the problem so that it doesn't happen again. I am not sure what more he could be doing...?

All 35mm adaptor companies have been plagued with problems at some point or another, including Redrock... And all have found remedies, as good companies should... It's a learning process that can only be fed by customer input. Anybody that buy a first generation product should know there will be some little problem. Even the HVX had some problems with the very first generation (something with the mechanism holding the battery if I remember correctly...)

Starting a new company isn't easy nor is launching a new product. Dealing with customers that speak a different language can be both challenging and frustrating for both seller and customer not to mentioned cultural differences and expectations. It is fairly obvious from reading Adriano's emails that he doesn't master the english language, and I know from experience that the meaning and essence of certain words can translate very differently from one language to another...

Give the guy a chance... It seems to me that he did everything one could expect from a similar situation.

Bruiserbox - instead of replying the same exact message 3 different times, why don't you shoot some footage with the Apefos? You started this forum to inform people about this adatper. You said you would give us the pros and cons. So far you have only given us cons. Shoot some footage, post it and let the people in the forum take a look so they can make a more informed decision about the adapter. We are all here to learn from each other. I understand if you have a sour taste in your mouth from the transaction, but we would all love to see some footage!

Thats a good idea. Why not. You already have the thing.

That's a fair statement and I agree.

He shipped with a known defect in the glass with the excuse that it didnt show in the image. That and the poor communication and support he initially gave bruiserbox was just pathetic. Sure hes willing to step up to the plate now that bruiser dragged him into a public forum. That kind of crap is why we constantly have to sue people in america. people think they can get away with defects and blowing off customers and not following through with delivery on time and it just doesnt fly. I deal with vendors day in and day and I dont really care if they are starting up or been around 30 years - if they cant deliver I wont work with them and I'll be telling my friends and clients about it so they dont have my misfortune. its survival of the fittest, not namby pamby let the guy slide because he doesnt speak english. thats not an excuse for scratching the glass and shipping it anyways. look at guys like vidled who have awesome customer service and quality control that is fantastic. Those are the guys that survive.

I agree too with that, at least he's making the situation right and says he's improving his ways.

We are giving him a break. Everyone deserves a second and third chance. Keep in mind if we hadn't put the pressure he would still be shipping out chipped adapters. The issue was never language, it was attitude. Now he has upped the quality control, and that's thanks to us for chiming in on what we expect as far as service and honest buissness is concerned. he can thank us for pointing out the short comings of his service and product, because now he has a chance of getting his company off on a better foot. Let's hope the issue doesn't pop up again and the thread gets started all over. good luck Adriano, and hope you learned some valuble buissness lessons

Thanks for the pressure, thanks for the chance. I learned so much. I asked the refund in paypal by fax and email and I invited paypal to read this forum.

When doing the shots remember:

use manual white balance with a white paper
check exposure
fix apefos in alu base or rods
find correct speed in apefos motor
use focus assist buton to frame the grond glass and find correct focus in 35mm lens
use nd filter in camcorder under high light

I sent apefos instructions for shotting (about 3 pages) read carefuly

thanks

I do agree with you, however it seems a bit one-sided and simplistic... Dealing with different cultures (language being an important part of any culture) can project an attitude that is accepted if not common in one country but totaly unacceptable in an other.

that's understandable, but if you want to work in the international market, it's a good idea to play by the rules and leave the baggage behind. I think Adriano benefits from having us show him the etiquette of the market at large, and not get stuck in a local attitude

Second Chances

Second Chances

You can ask other people on this post and outside, I've never bad mouthed the guy. I actually think Adriano is doing the best he can. Sadly, I got a chipped unit after a long (over 65 emails long) period of trying to get a unit I paid for over a month ago. I think it's a nice gesture to let me keep the unit he shipped and refund my money.

I don't know if this whole thing is an example of working in the international market but about getting what you pay for. I recently got a refund from b&h on my 2 p2 cards since panasonic dropped their prices. B&H did it and told me they were glad they had my business and would I consider them next time. For what it's worth, English is my 2nd language and so was the guy I talked to at B&H. I don't think there's so much a language barrier as not getting information when I requested it (even now I've emailed him three times without a response) and selling a chipped unit after a long time as a full priced undamaged unit. I'm pretty lenient and give a lot of slack; there are folks who would have freaked out big time. It's frustrating. Hopefully, I'll be the only one with these problems. I want to move on.

Some members have asked me to post some pictures with the adapter and give some 'pros' (this started out as a very different post) on the unit. I'm not willing to do that. I really don't want to review the unit because I don't think I'd be fair. Adriano says it's fine; I don't. Reality is we're both right. Still, if there's a local person that people on here trust that wants to try it out for a day or two and post their impressions, I'm happy to loan it out. Honestly, if we went down this road, I'd want Adriano's ok (in case he might want a review to be done with a newer unit). If I get my refund and emails answered, I'm happy to move on and get an m2 and be done with it.

PS- Sorry for repeating myself (tbunla) in some of these posts but I kind of think it's been a good thing vs. me being a **** because now if you guys buy a new unit, you won't get it chipped or have to wait for him to make units for others first. Sucks I was the guinea pig but it's cool if a good thing comes out of it.

And I did want to thank Adriano for coming on here and making things right and taking heat from others. That is big of him. I'm glad he did the right thing.

i think Adriano said your chipped adapter works no problem. After all this talk it's a little disapointing you won't try it out. Sure we made him up his quality control, but who here that owns an hvx is going to take the chance on ordering a clean adapter if we can't get someone to test it? Adriano clearly stated after seeing the pictures that you could rotate it , and seemed to be implying that he would be more than happy for you to give it a test run. Since he finally gave you the adapter for free, you could atleast try it out, and if he really didn't want anyone using the chipped adapter, he would have asked for it back , even if it's after you received your payment. We here at the forum did the best we could to pressure him and back you up, so it would be nice if you gave something back to the people here that have been practically pleading with you to test it out for everyones sake. Do you want something good to come out of this, or just a new paper weight?

i totally agree, and i do understand that has been a aggravating situation for you but it seems to have worked out ..... i for one would'nt mind seeing some test footage because i would like to buy one myself.
:dankk2:

Even if he doesn't review, if he gives it to someone on here, that would be nice too. (he kinda hinted at that)

I feel confident enough in what I have read. I will purchase one of these adapters and as soon as I recieve it and shoot some footage I will be posting it. I suppose this process might be up to two weeks. Stay tuned.

Hey tbuelna, I don't think you read too well. For the time being Apefos is filling his previous orders (if you checked out the site). There are none for sale, just a waiting list. So don't get too excited about posting results in 2 weeks. What happened to your' M2? I asked Bruiserbox to sell me his Apefos adapter for cheap, as he was not showing signs of wanting to try or use it. Would Adriano mind? I don't really care. We are looking for results here. Not drama. Adriano finished the drama and got on to results. I know bruiserbox is willing to lend out his adapter but I'm not in L.A. I'll pay for the shipping (it's not much to canada), and paypal a deposit. Anyone here willing to vouch for me as a responsible , and honest dvxuser?

I didn't read the entire forum verbatim, with so much digression, it was extremly boring reading a lot of the same posts. My apologies. I still have the M2, but an adapter for 300 is hardly a risk after shelling out thousands for this little hobby of mine. Depending on when I receive the adapter, I will post footage as soon as I can. That would be great if Bruiser would lend his adapter to you so we can see footage in a more terse manor.
