Help with DVX100 Footage in FCP

I am a beginner at editing and working on a project that is facing some problems. Maybe you can advise me if I am doing this right:

The project was shot mainly on NTSC with the DVX100 on 24P (the original camera and NOT 24P Advanced). I brought it into Final Cut Pro as normal NTSC footage (29.97) I put it on the normal NTSC sequence. I also have some PAL footage which I converted to NTSC and brought into the sequence which looks fine.

The problem is, the shots with a lot of quick motion of hands, or people walking fast looks VERY jumpy and jittery for some reason. When I see the raw footage tapes on my camera it looks OK, but loses quality somewhere in there...Any advice??

Thanks so much.

Firewire out from your computer into the camera. Then go RCA or SVideo out from the camera to a TV set. Now playback your timeline and see if it still looks problematic. If so, then there is something that needs addressing. If it only looks weird on your computer monitor, then don't worry about it. Computer monitors are meant for content creation not video QC.

cheers.

I did that. still shaky...I just don't know if its the way that camera is...but every few frames on the fast motion looks like it has double lines...
