I'd rather spend the extra money for a redrock (which I have) and get excellent support. I've had them help me with every issue, and twice they even sent me small replacement parts for free.... I'm about to order another one in a couple days. I may have paid a bit more, but I know I'm going to get a great product with great service.

You get what you pay for, and obviously this thread is what you get for the cheapest.

I stoped building the 20 units and now I am shipping one by one after finish.
I like the Idea of a forum for the users. I will open it after solve this problem. In this way Chistian can talk about the problem in the oficial forum but he will say the problem is fixed, is solved. I always answer all emails. If I am here in this thread is because I want christian get perfect images. And I hope he try the adapter in the camcorder. If the mark is in the middle there is a problem and i will refund. As i said, if the mark is outide the image frame, camcorder will not see it. Just rotate apefos in the camcorder thread to solve.

I worked two years developing this adapter and I love photography, I am not here just for money, I like Apefos because it is different from the others. I solved problems found in other adapters. Apefos corrects hotspot, minimizes vignetting, has a big area ground glass, has a little oscilating movement, image is sharp and is low light ready. And is low price too.

Remember: I am here to help Christian to solve the problem. There are three ways: 1- discover the mark is outside the frame and will not afect the image, 2 - change the adapter if needed, 3 - refund if needed.

I will wait Christian send a photo of the problem.

thanks

This is a draw showing apefos image area. The circular (round) line represents all the image area and is 55mm size, bigger than 35mm frame. If there are any mark outside the 16:9 and 4:3 frame camcorder will not see it. Just rotates the apefos in camcorder thread to solve.

thanks.

If his glass has a chip or crack, regardless of whether it's outside the image area or not, it should be replaced as a defective part. Once glass is chipped or cracked the defect can spread over time, so it may be out of view now but what about in 6 months or a year from now.

No problem. If he wants to change the unit it is ok. But he needs to ship it back for me first. We need to know if the problem is broken, chipped or scratched. If the problem is a little mark it will not increase over time. But I agree. The customer have the right of change if he wants to.

Here are pictures of the chips/scratches in the glass elements in the unit.

Two are on the back end of the unit.

The third is on end where you mount the 35mm lens.

Chip #1 you can feel if you lightly run your fingertip over it. The other two (2 and 3) are on the other side of the glass ). Sorry, I know the pictures are not the best quality.

Since there was no glass chips or dust in the ziplock bag the unit came in, I don't believe the chips were due to shipping. Plus the bag was wrapped in 4 layers of bubble wrap and the box and labels were in tach thereby showing the box wasn't dropped or manhandled.

I really don't care if you can't see the chips when you use the unit. If I buy something as new and am told it'll be sold that way, I expect and unbroken thing. Especially, if I basically have to beg for him to ship it, keep me updated, and now just admit he sent me a broken unit/chipped glass (which I can see in previous posts, he's admitted by default by saying the scratches wouldn't show if I just turned the unit so they are not in the camera sight).

I don't believe every single person will go through this nor do I believe Adriano is a bad guy or makes a bad product but my experience has been so completely bad on almost every level:

ordering
updates
shipping
product quality
accountability

that it's probably tough to endorse his adapter and not feel like if it happened to me, it'll probably repeat because I do believe he's doing his best. It's just tough to be happy with looking at a chipped unit that I had to beg and wait to get so he could produce 20 others. I kind of wish I'd gotten the best of the 20 other units instead of this one as I don't believe redrock or brevis would ship me a unit with chips in the glass element and then tell me that I had to prove it and ship it back (to Brasil) so he could decide if they offer a refund. Even if it's under $400, it's not cool.

For what it's worth, here's what she looks like on the outside. I photographed the unit next to a club card/credit card size card to try to indicate size.

The unit is covered in a type of dark grey foam material that is taped on. The material isn't cut very well but from 4 or 5 feet it doesn't look that bad. It does vibrate quite a bit even when turned down past medium but some of that can be reduced a little some sort of rod support.

The unit was shipped with a piece of aluminum to support the adapter but it really looks unflattering in my opinion. I haven't included pictures of it for that reason.

The marks is outside the image area and will not be shown in the image but if you want to be refund no problem. but I cannot refund you and you keep the unit. Send me it back and I will email paypal to refund you. there are inexpensive ups airmail parcel post to you ship it back and receive this amount with the refund.

Remember: the marks is outside the image area and will not be in the frame camcorder will see. If you test in camcorder and change your decision let me know.

Based on his response I don't put it past him re-selling and shipping the same adapter to someone else hoping they don't say anything.

I guess I can conclude that the apefos 35 mm adapter gets shipped with chips, and the seller knows it. That's why it only cost $290 US. And he probably is right that by rotating the adapter you avoid the chips in the frame. This should though be stated on the product description, otherwise it is false advertisemnt. I think if people knew there were chips in advance, they may still go for it considering the price. As long as it works, and it was sold in an honest way. But the sneaky way Adriano goes about it has very little do do with the integrety of photography. By the way how much you selling the chipped adapter for now? $290 ?

The unit is new, not used. I our quality control if the marks is outside the frame the unit is aproved. I did not lie, I just thought if mark is outside the frame there was no problem. But we will change it. Now unit will be aproved if there are no marks. You can send it back or keep the unit as a gift. If you decide to keep as a gift remember to position marks outside the frame area and you will get perfect pictures. I will sen a fax to paypal to refund you. Remember to say here the lowlight power of the adapter like you said in the email you sent to me. Thanks.

Actually, I said it was lighter than I'd thought as in it doesn't weight as much as I'd expected without the 35mm lens and batteries. An adapter that's not chipped probably works great.

If you'll issue the refund then that would be great. I appreciate you doing the right thing and I think it's a good idea not to sell folks adapters that have chips in the glass even if they can zoom in around the chipped glass. I'm not paying to mail back a broken adapter and then waiting for you to reimburse me for that. Let's just move on with our lives.

I didn't do any tests with the camera and to be honest, I just want my money back. I plan on getting an m2 in a couple months. If you guys are interested in the apefos, it sounds like Adriano is only going to offer quality stuff from now on so, have at it those of you who want to test this out.

You might as well test it out since you have it. Plus more than a few people here are interested in it.

Bruiserbox - instead of replying the same exact message 3 different times, why don't you shoot some footage with the Apefos? You started this forum to inform people about this adatper. You said you would give us the pros and cons. So far you have only given us cons. Shoot some footage, post it and let the people in the forum take a look so they can make a more informed decision about the adapter. We are all here to learn from each other. I understand if you have a sour taste in your mouth from the transaction, but we would all love to see some footage!

Hey Apefo,

You just lost me as a customer and all my friends and my friends friends etc... You under estimate the power of forums and word of mouth....

Would you like to buy a piece of lens that says ," There is a finger print mark on the lens coating, but it doesn't affect the image" and you pay the full price as the one without the fingerprint.

If you would have sold that adapter with a chip for a discounted price and said that it doesn't affect the image from the start then peolpe would have bought it knowing that there is a chip on it . Look at Letus. they advistesed the handiman units for a discounted price. People know what they are in for. Dust and dirt inside.

If you would have handed this in a nicer way. I would have bought the adapter from you and so would have my other friends here in Germany. But again, you don't need our bussiness, you sold 20 pieces already....Good on you:thumbup:
