I'm sure we have all used our cameras at one time or another to playback our timeline on a tv via firewire to rca. But I just want a basic adapter without costing alot of dough. I will give someone a golden (chocolate) coin if they can lead me the right direction.
Firewire to S or RCA video.
Not meant for analog capturing (okay if it does, but I just assume only going one direction would be cheaper that bidirectional)

I just cant see how it could cost alot of money when you can have a pos dv camera for like 250 bucks. (and no, don't tell me that as a solution, haha)

yeah, those would work, but like why do they cost what they cost. I was looking and saw that there are dvd recorders with dv in's too for like 200 bucks.

I guess its the same reason filmtools.com wants 40 bucks for a paper lantern...because they can. (even though I got mine for 8 bucks, haha)

Yeah most DVD recorders dont play well with anything but camcorders for direct dv -> dvd burning. A good a/d converter is much more than an adapter for two different types of connectors - the Canopus is a good deal.

If your that bothered buy the components seperatly do some soldering and build yourself one. You can't do video on the cheap even if it is a hobby it costs money and no $199 is not a lot for an analouge to digital convertor.

how would you even build one, digi to analog takes processing which takes a chip, i dont know if it could be made,

i think i'll get that advx110
