07' short DP Reel

...Ok.

Basically, your saying I should mimic his reel, and so should every other cinematographer in the world? I was looking for some input on my reel, not a link to someone elses.
 
I liked it. Well I'd change the music, definately, but the levels were fine, the images were good and the pacing was good (when seen on mute), except for maybe a couple of cuts that were too fast...
 
Since we're playing show and tell can I get a lil critique action on mine its from last year and i have done alot since....Just need to find the time to get the assets and start cutting up a new version for '07 in addition to waiting for Final Cut Studio 2 to come out.

Thats a lot better. The only thing I would say is that you seem to be going back to the same scenes just different angles but later on in the reel so it feels like we have seen it already. Maybe group the same scenes together instead of spreading them out. Just a thought.
My fav shot is the one of the hand dragging on the bench, that was really nice.
 
Alot better then it was. Although, I'm not sure what you used for music before, but I honestly don't think Snow Patrol fits with this new cut. The song is pretty cheery and doesnt go well with some of the content that you have on there. Like the mob stuff for instance. Perhaps a choice of song without lyrics perhaps? Just instrumental. Something that covers both the dramatic stuff and comedic stuff in your reel.
I dunno. but so far so good, maybe tighten more with different song selection.
