Favorite female comedians.

It's Friday night again so I'm talking to who'll ever listen. (The wall). I saw a Carol Burnett special two nights ago. This lady is a genius. Then and still. Bring her back anytime.
Should be put back in syndication. Got me thinking about great female comedians. Another I miss is Sherri Oteri. This girl busted me up bigtime. I looked for her sitcom but could not find it and it was gone just as fast.
Unfortunatly not one youtube video that I could find. (Except a fake one)
This kid rocked. Should be in the big time.

Another one that cracks me up is Julia Dreyfus.

But Carol Burnett has not lost a beat, in fact she seems to have gained some momentum.
Don't know who saw the special but it was brilliant broadway at its best.
Don't have a link.

Lucy - hands down.
Hey, I watched Lucy every day. And no I'm not gay. Not that's there's
anything wrong with that. Carol Burnett is Queen of comedy. Have you
seen her last outing? Makes her old stuff look tame. Give her a damn medal already.

I'm not blown away by too many female comedians either. Just my opinion here, but with either male OR female comedians I think any opposite sex humor gets stupid quick... some of it? Yes... but "what's wrong with men/women" jokes? No.

Unfortunately this renders most female comedians uninteresting to me. If it weren't for David Letterman... then Ellen would be funny... but she is just doing DAVE the whole time... I mean frighteningly so.

If we're calling Juila D a comedian then I'm right there with you... she is and was awesome. I love her. The "superstar" girl is pretty good also... while she isn't hitting MY funnybone... I can see how she would do it for some people.

Remember "Pat" from SNL? She was brilliant...

Oh man... Okay... I got one. The woman that plays Ms. Swan on MadTV is a GENIUS. Now that I think of it... MadTV is bucking my norm for female comedians... there are lots of funny women on that show (at least the older shows)...

I think I figured it out for myself... generally speaking I like to see this unfiltered bafoonery from comics... I do NOT mean "blue-collar" comedy... I don't get that stuff... but what I mean is there's a certain vulnerability... or hard realism in the comdians that I enjoy... here's a non-sexist comparison... say Dave Chapelle... versus the Kangs of Komedy... all those dudes in suits and coiffed hairstyles... that just isn't comedy to me... Dave C has a "your buddy talking to you" kind of delivery... which just works. Most female comedians have this obvious awareness of their personal appearance... I'm not saying that they should go on stage as slobs... but eloquence and comedy are natural enemies in my book.

Alex Borstein (I tell you everytin')

She's also the voice of Lois in Family Guy and she had a role in "Kicking & Screaming" (Will Ferrell).

I don't think there's too many females comedians that are actually funny. Janine Garrofollo (spelt wrong, I know) is brilliant thought.
