Budget Monitoring

I've been searching for a while and can't seem to come up with a complete answer to my issue on broadcast monitoring. Working with a Mac Pro that has an ATI X1900 GPU, should I just output DVI-Component to a broadcast monitor for HD direct drive, or do a really need something like a Kona or MXO? Also, do I actually need a professional HD broadcast monitor for relatively (not super critical) color accurate onlining? Can I use a normal TV/LCD, or calibrate an Apple Cinema Display to perform equivalently?

Matrox MXO with a Apple Cimema Display is an option.

It has been discussed on here a couple time this month. search for Matrox MXO.

Check Here too.

The new version of the MXO software (still in beta) allows you to see color bars, and supplies a Pro Amp so that you can adjust them. BLUE ONLY option too.

Turns that Apple display into a true broadcast quality monitor.
