1600 resolution isnt that great, but for the price it looks pretty nice.

The only better res is 1920x1080 and you are going to pay $900-$1200 for that.
unless you step up to a 23 inch or a 30 inch.

I am ELATED with it... even though I normally prefer HP over Samsung.

You can get 1900x1080 in a Dell 24" for under $700... I considered it, but paying double for a couple extra inches didn't seem worth it. Just so you have all the facts... the coolest thing about the Dell is that it's a genuine 16x9... with your HP (and my Samsung) we have the black bars because the aspect is about 16x10.

Once the Dell gets under $500 it will be the only LCD on my wish list.

i almost got the samsung as it has a higher contrast ratio and faster response time. but i really liked the hp's stand and the fact that i can rotate the screen 90 degrees. the vertical setup works great for typing documents.

Eh, if you're not playing video games and just doing video production, then you're fine with the not-so-fast response time, really. I think that's a great monitor, personally. I run 1280 x 1024 on my 19", so 1600 on that should be sweet.

I don't know Matt...I think you will probably LOVE that thing. I researched like crazy to find my mother an LCD TV and time and time again the SAMSUNGS image looked incredible...

And what's with gear lust? I have a perfectly beautiful 19" AG NEOVO which looks good and gives a great image....yet....you guys are having me want a bigger monitor....widescreen......higher contrast ratio....AHHHH! DOES IT EVER END!?!?!?
