Anyone need a 42" LCD 1080p HDTV for $1049

Please see Sony and Samsung line of LCD's. Anyone else? Sure, they're bad.. Sony and Samsung... inaccurate.

I don't mind the name (Westinghouse) as much as I mind the fact that its a refurb. That scares me. It means the tv is already jinxed and already has had some problems.

I just picked out an AKAI 42" 1080p LCD from SAM's CLUB last week for my mother. It was $1049.00 I think. Give or take $20.00. I made sure she had the HDMI cable and it looks beautiful. Seriously.

I have a westinghouse 27 inch lcd for about a year and half and have had no problems. the picture is pretty damn good too, especially for the price. I dont know about a refurb though.

cynic, what does that mean? Does that mean they're made at the same factory? Or are they, like, the samsung monitors that samsung didn't think were good enough so they created a small company just to sell their reject monitors?

Yeah, I've always wondered that myself when I hear "well, this Ford Escort is really made by Ferrari". What does that mean?

I know in pharmaceuticals, drug companies are pushed to make generic brands to compete with their own more expensive name brands in order to pick up more of the market share. I think it might have to do with this concept.

Either way, aside from Panasonic monitors, I LOVE Samsung TVs. They look great. So, I'll take it...

Basicly, rebadged means that the company made it for another company, which puts their name on it. Like my Sony DVD RW drive. It is a rebadged Liteon, and neither company gives support for it now. Screw Sony. Once they have your money, you are no longer a valued customer.
