Hello new to the forum and have just laid down a bunch of money on a new DVX 100B from B&H Photo. The last thing I need is a scratched lense, can anyone recommend a clear filter to protect my investment? Also, what are the differences in mm sizes? Any assistance would be appreciated.

Get a 72mm UV filter, they are the cheapest and will not effect your colors. The different sizes are for cameras with different thread sizes, for example 72mm filter goes with the 72mm Dvx threads.

I use a 72mm UV filter (like mentioned above) for the same reason you were talking about. I use it when I am shooting and any type of unstable condition like outdoors at a race or something like that and it works great and doens't effect the colors. I also have other filters I use to adjust the colors that work to protect the lens just as well. Hope this helps!
I know B&H has a real good selection of good filters for pretty cheap, i suggest that if you are going to spend the money on one that you get a whole pack because they all seem to come in handy!
