Hy guys,
So i've been shooting some footage with my DVX100BE ( both 25p and 50i - on different mini dv cassets - TDK and Panasonic ) and today i tried to capture the footage into my PC. The thing is, that regardless of the software i use in capture ( i tried both Pinnacle Studio 9 and Vegas 5 ) i RANDOMLY ( as far as a pattern, usually after 4 - 6 minutes of capturing, also happened after 15 minutes ) get this error on my camera's LCD: UNPLAYABLE TAPE (OTHER FORMAT) and the software records some spikes and errors and then stops.
I've been using my firewire card and cable for some time now with other ( a Canon and a Sony HC96 ) camcorders and NEVER experienced something like this. Sadly i don't have either camera at home right now to put the cassets i recorded with the DVX in and capture.
Is there a setting i've missed, what could be wrong ? Anyone experienced this before, PLEASE HELP !!
10x in advance !
edit: Forgot to say that when i PLAY the footage on my DV100BE, it seem to be playing fine.
edit2: Further testing showed that it gives the error even when playing the cassete in the camcorder - randomly - meaning that if i rewind, it plays ok...
I don't think i shot 3 hours with the camera so far...could it already be a dust issue, should i use a cleaning cassette ? PLS HELP !
