At MICRCENTER, i found a HD monitor, the "astar ltv-19bs"

I took my HVX into the store and monitored off the component out into the monitors RCA component inputs.

The picture was decent AND i was able to output in ALL formats (480,720,1080)

I'm gonna pick up one on friday (payday)

Does anyone have any horror stories before I buy it.

(i JUST NEED IT FOR BREVIS FOCUS-COLOR NOT THAT CRUCIAL)

THANKS

this'd be great, If i didnt have to be tethered to the wall, and have to put it somewhere instead of being able to mount it.

um....no i wont be putting this 15 lbs monitor on my rails (i wonder with the right bracing....)
Nah.....it'd never work
Seriously though, i'm shooting in controlled static settings with AC.
i Just need something bigger to keep the brevis from being soft & check lighting.
regarding the bad reviews...
seems the bad reviews were all early (2006). Maybe production glitches have been solved.
i think i'll buy. I'll post opinion after this weekends shoot
thanks everyone

lol, i figured that. not even sure why I posted the question. lol

I'm looking for a monitor to mount but having a hell of a time finding something cheaper.

Hey, for a second, I thought he was looking to mount a monitor to his cam too. Then I saw the monitor in question and said "What the f...?"

here is what you want. ikan v8000HD

i saw one in person today and it looked FANTASTIC!

8" 720p and 1080i
full pass though of all inputs composite, component (BNC) and Svid
integrated L series battery plate that can charge a battery while in use connected to ac power

full kit - monitor, ac power and heavy duty shoe mount $795

thats HALF of what the comparable marshall is. NOW, its not quite as slick as the marshall. but at this price, i'll make do QUITE HAPPILLY!

There is another thread on this monitor and I am stoked to see it perform at NAB...

:) I got it last night. I believe its just what i need. HUGE help in focus and shot composition. Also playbacks can be seen correctly. for under 300 i am happy (for now).
Eventually i'd like to have a 12vDC little HD monitor too....just cant afford right now.

WTF! It hung when I posted, the button must have been going crazy.
Edit: someone deleted the posts, there were like 10 duplicates.
