Is this easy to do? Turn stills into 3D? Is there any tutorial on a how to? I understand that u have to cut out each element in photoshop. But, how do u fill in the dark spots that have been cut out? When i animate them its hard to avoid the black silhouette cut outs where the imaged orginally came from...

You are right about the dark areas, either you clone some of them, or you go with a completely new background that fits the other layers. Some other times you can startfrom something that has been drawn digitally and all the pieces are layers.

If you can't avoid layers yo will have to clone dark areas that are visible from movement.

Well there are methods and methods I suppose.

You can scale elements to help cover up the black area's, clone area's, depends what the image looks like I suppose.

Thanks Arson.

That Napoleon video looks as though it's only 3 layers and the background could be just moved down or a different image all together. Looking forward to trying this myself.

Use tools like the clone stamp and Healing brush in Photoshop to rebuild the areas on the layers the camera will see when the foreground elements move.

Simple as that.

Did one last week with about 6 depth layers. Looked very sweet. Easy to do, it just takes a little time repairing the background layer.
