Editing/Trimming Multiple Events at Once

Hello All,

I'm new to this group, however have been using Vegas a couple years now. I've never been able to figure this out yet, hope someone can help.

Does anyone know how to edit multiple events at once, making them the exact same length? For example, I am bringing in 60 frames (from Lightwave 3D). When you import them in and lay them on the track, they ALL default to 5 seconds in length. Just like when you add text, it is defaulted to 5 seconds.

So what I want to do is select all 60 and change them to like 1 second or 1/2 second.

I think that's clear?

Thanks,

Eric Kirk

Using email response is cool too. I'm trying to figure this out quickly.

I see several people read this but no answers.

Well, I have the answer. I wrote Sony and oddly enough, the ability does not exist. So if anyone else ever has the same question, bottom line is you must resize frames individually.

Kirkeric:

For still frames you can adjust the default import length in the preferences under the editing tab. I use Vegas 7d so I am not sure this was available in earlier versions.

Open Vegas then on the upper menu choose Options then Preferences from the dropdown menu. Then choose the Editing tab and set the length of the still frame default. The program default is 5 sec. but you can adjust to 1-2 etc. Depending on what you project is set to i.e. 23.976 or 60i the tab will show how many frames the default length you set represents.

Mr Cannon,

I am using 7.0 Platinum so it must be close to the same. You have saved the day! I can't believe they didnt know that at tech support even though I specifically mentioned frames and default lengths and such. At 60 frames/stills for my test segment, that's only like 2-3 seconds so you have just saved me a bunch of time for the more longer segments to come.

Thanks.

Not the first time that's happened either. I was trying get help awhile back and the Sony tech was absolutely clueless AND took forever to respond. Posted here before dinner and by the time I was done, I had just the answer I needed.

well the help tab in vegas has been EXTREMELY helpful for me in finding useful things for problem solving and editing tricks. see if it can help you next time.
