Reasons to upgrade from 6 to 7?

Hey all,

I am a Vegas user since version 4. I am currently using Vegas 6, and didn't see a good reason to upgrade to 7. Am I missing something? What do you see as the best reasons to upgrade from 6 to 7? Thanks in advance for your input :dankk2:

The main update from 6 to 7 is for HDV users. If you use HDV, 7 is much better. However, they're due for an update at NAB that adds AVC-HD support, so don't rush to upgrade yet if you don't need to.

What hasn't been mentioned are the little things that make editing a little easier. Not that I thought it could get any easier from 6. If you're happy with 6, it looks like you don't really want to upgrade.

Well, the HDV is of course the biggie, but little things like AdvanTech mentioned are also a big part in it. . .
-draw directly on the rubber band for velocity, volume, composite etc. . . this is a big time saver and one of my favorite new features.
-lineup rulers, don't know the real name for them but they are little blue lines that appear at the edge of events on the time line when you are lining things up, this is a huge advancement in Vegas 7 as far as I'm concerned. When I'm churning out 4-8 30 second spots at once it has helped me so much to make sure that all of the events do not exceed their 30sec time limit. Before I had to zoom in to each beginning and ending to make sure, now I know for sure with the little blue line. . . geeze sounds like a pregnancy test commercial :)
