What DVX Accessories do you use the most?

What are some of the basic components/accessories that you use the most when shooting. What was the best money you spent for what you are doing?

Good tripod, mic and stand for sitdown interviews, and lights. Least used accessories would be wide angle lens and flowpod. Next thing on my list of accessories would be a monitor I can set focus by, perhaps a marshall. Oh and by the way I've got an hvx, but I dont think that really matters here.

Shotgun mic and wide angle lens.

Artistically, I like to be close in with a wide lens... lots of optical distortion (not for everything... but quite a bit).

The mic is a must. The on camera mic just doesn't cut it.

I thought I would use my tripod more than I do... maybe once I dabble in dollies.

What do you use most?

I am just buying a camera (should be here on the 24th) but I am wondering what I should put my money into. I like the idea of a good tripod and a crane, but I am not sure what the best move is.

I suggest a microphone before the crane. Sound quality sets apart professional productions from amateur ones more than image quality, IMO.

I agree on the mic... but as for other stuff, it depends what you plan to produce... and from the sounds of "crane and dolly" I would guess indie films (as opposed to videography services).

If this is the case, start saving for a 35mm lens adapter and a lens or two.

Good luck man.
