Azden 200ult wireless Lavalier system for HV20?

Hey guys,
I'm gonna be getting my new Canon HV20 in a couple of weeks and since I will be shooting a mock up of reality TV type movie (plus I am a one-man-band sort of guy) I thought it be best to purchase a wireless lav system for my two subjects so I wouldn't have to worry about a boom op.

My choice narrows down to the Azden 200ult system, here is the B&H link:

I don't know much about sound, but I'm thinking this will free me up to follow my subjects with the HV20 and not have to worry about a camera mounted mic, trusting my idiot (think narcolepsy) friends with a boom or my schedule, or holding the mic with my free hand myself.
But will this system work? I mean I can see it has a 3.5 output just like the HV20 has a 3.5 input, so no worries there, but will it work in terms of is it my best shot as a one man filmmaking crew? It's $640, I just don't want to make a bad decision. Ilumination, guidance and maybe suggestions towards a different (better, easier) route would be greatly appreciated.

Glimmer,

While I have not used the Azden, they have a bad reputation (generally speaking) for producing poor products that do not last. Please do a search for wireless here to see all of the details - but the general consensus is that the Sennheiser G2 system is the minimum acceptable for any serious applications.

Hey, thanks ptalsky, I'm glad you said something, I look into it immediately.
I have heard Azden has a bad rep. and I guess I was just fooling myself. Can you or anyone post me a link to some of the Senn G2 packages?
Now i'm off to search!

Hey I looked it up and boy the G2 does look like it does an awesome job, but I wasn't able to find any info on dual channel, I need to be able to pick up audio from two subjects at all times, can anyone direct me to the proper g2 package for that?

Yep, it's called change the quantity from 1 to 2 in the order form. Sennheiser doesn't make a G2 that is dual channel.

You may want to look at renting rather than buying...

LOL.

Don't forget to pick up some good lavs with the wireless, the EMW lav is a very popular "cheap but acceptable" mic.

Cheers

Actually, after that damned actor broke my B6 last weekend, and I switched him over to an EMW, I have a higher opinion of the EMW now. It matches really well with the G2's. I'm not saying I'm dumping my B6's in favor of EMWs, but I more strongly recommend EMWs for those on a budget.

Ok so i found out from my guy at media supply store that the G2 dosen't have a dual channel reciever, so now I need to know if two recievers can be made to run as one into the mini input of the Hv20.
Also, I see there is a EW122 G2 and a G2 100 series, one with an M2 cardoid mic and the other with a m4 omni mic... they lost me with all that, I'm not sure which to buy with what mic, he said they were the same price so I'm hopin you guys can clear all this up for me. The price for both recievers, mics and bodypacks is $951 shipped, I'd rather buy them than rent, seeing as the shoot will probably take me the rest of the year. I can buy them at any time, but I'm gonna wait for some answers first, thanks guys

A simple two mono to one stereo mini-plug cable should bring both in easy. Again, do not forget you will need to replace the lavs; the m2 and m4 are junk. Add another $300 for two EMW to your total.

cheers
