Hi all just through this thing together took about 30 minutes. used stuff from around the house and satinsnow gg that I forgot I ordered. Just thought it would be a good learning curve while I wait for my SGProR2 to turn up (can't wait)
Running on a V1E no macro lens just focus on the gg pretty poor but good fun

Poo poo, show some footage!!

The screengrabs look pretty good... little vignetting, but hey, for what it is, they look GREAT.

p.s. What's the wait on the SGpro?

The grabs look pretty good, but it's hard to tell from that size. It would great if you could post some SD footage...even better if you could post some HD footage.

The grabs are not the full frame there is some darkening in the corners, not sure why but I may change the GG I have 5 they were only $7 each but they took ages to arrive.

Could somebody tell me what the size of the GG focus area should be for 16:9 HD in mm. At the moment I used the full 35mm frame size.

By the way total cost was 25 Euros to make

Euros? Where are you from?
When is somebody in Spain going to start making some decent 35mm adapters? :violin:

OK you asked for it. Its not very good there is clearly a hotspot and the corners are quite dark, but there is no macro pcx or fresnel, I think the GG works quite well, but like I said its been thrown together with little in the way of high spec measurments.

Not sure the best way to post video but here is the link

One more thing I have not exactly bothered too much about the gg surface for crap, just dusted it off with a rag. So there must be some crap on it sorry.

Well I Got MY SgPro R2 today I have just thrown it (sorry) carefully constructed the system together (very easy by the way took about 3 minutes) and cant wait to get out and shoot some test footage. Here is a picture of it all together with a Canon 135mm F2 lens attached.

So I will be forgetting about my home made thingy and concentrating on my short.

Running on a Sony V1E, will post some 25p footage soon I hope. Waiting on the weather at the moment.

Ferdi,

Yes I used some GG I got from SatinSnow they were very cheap BUT I had to wait weeks for them. 40mmx30mm I think were about 10$ each so I got 5,
The reason I did this was because I knew I would be waiting a while for my SGPro so I fancied playing around. There is no Fresnel or Macro PCX lens on my Magiver unit. and there is an obvious hotspot as a result. But If I close up the surface area and zoom in, something my V1E allows then its kind of OK. I would imaging though if you could vibrate the GG it would look pretty good.
But I have my new toy and will hopefully get to use it soon. thanks for your interest though Ferdi.

I'm nerdy enough to say that looks SEXY as hell.

Send that pic off to Wayne, I know he'll want it for the website.
