Laughing out loud. Awesome.

It is madness...those people are nuts. I like how they say the want to re-examine history. Apparently everything I've come to understand about the history of mankind is completely wrong.

Meanwhile, look in Irianian theatres this month for their new drama called "America: Satan's Empire of Infidels"...

I can't see how people can think that movies based on comics or graphic novels are set out to attack one party or people. Everyone bashed V for Vendetta, saying that it was anti-Bush, until they found out that it was acutally based on a comic series. Even George Lucas came into question with Episode III, with people trying to make connections between his story of the Emperor coming to power and the Bush administration.

Give it a rest, people. These movies are adaptations of stories already created. Now, if they ever make a movie based on a new comic book called "Super Nazi Man" or something, then there's plenty of room to complain....

Leave it to the Middle East..... THE MOVIE TAKES PLACE 2487 YEARS AGO.... GET OVER IT. Iran wasn't even around, Persians are distant ancestors. My god.

Like the Iranians have nothing better to worry about.

I love how a movie's oversimplification of a people sets off an erroneous generalization about "hollywood" which is then rebuked here with further superficial understandings of the "offended" people.

you say that like Frank Miller didn't have a political statement to make with the graphic novel.

hahaha thats ridiculous. All of humaity was built on brutality. There are no good guys and bad guys, just people doing what they see fit to survive. And its a movie about B.C. times...give me a break. And on top of that...they called westerners 'aliens' in the article....are you serious? They really need to get a reality check and learn how to live life without the poor me everyone pity us attitude.

Apperantly people from Kazikstan are frustrated with the portrayal of their country in Borat...

People need to take a chill pill.

I haven't seen 300 (hope to soon) but aren't there like Monsters and such in the movie? Who can take something like that seriously. Not to mention the movie isn't very historically accurate. It's just a story.

Every time a state denounces this or that 'enemy state' for attacking their own culture or way of life, it is targeted at their own citizens. First, make them feel proud and superior. Next, make them outraged about the 'insult'. Then, let them know, in no uncertain terms, that they really need you (the state, the party, the government, the king, what have you) to fight this insult.

I don't think that many Westerners really cared about anti-imperialist tirades the commies did in 70s and 80s when I was growing up behind the Iron Curtain. The commies did it to control us, the poor souls stuck on the wrong side of the barbed wire. Similarly, the Iranians do it to control their own, because they know damn well that the rest of the world doesn't care a iota about their injured pride.

And similarly, the rest of the world doesn't care about injured American pride, either.

So, let's all get on with life, stop being babies, and MAKE MOVIES!

XCheck, thank you for a glimpse into a world that I have never experienced. I appreciate the fact that you experienced something than few of us in the 'west' could even begin to imagine.

We just live in a world where everybody is so sensitive.

Give me a break. Xerxes was like 20 feet tall. If I were Persian, I'd take that as a compliment.

Didnt bother me, I carry an ALIEN card in my wallet. Forgot it one day and the Tokyo police took me down to the station for 3 hours.

To be honest, I kind of wanted to see a Leonidas vs. Xerxes battle, one on one. I hate to admit that, because it would've been stupid and wayyyyy off the facts, but still. I liked how they envisioned Xerxes.
