Adding a softbox to a tota light...

Has anyone out there ever used/added a softbox to a Lowel tota light?

I have 2 tota lights in my kit and rarely use them both at the same time and I am in need of a softbox to add some variety to my kit. I am thinking about buying a Photoflex softbox (24x32) and their speedring for one of my tota lights. I read somewhere a few weeks ago that the speedring interfears with the power cord.

If it doesn't, would this be a good source of soft light at 750 watts, even thought the bulb is recessed?

Anyone?

I have two photoflex speedrings for my Totas. I have Chimera softboxes I use on them. Yes, it works well as a softlight source.

It's a little snug with the plug when mounting the light inside the softbox, but still very useable. You can also mount the light outside the softbox but just be careful to keep the flaps of the softbox off the light or you'll set off the smoke detectors and have everyone will be screaming fire.
