Would anyone permanently give up their sense of smell for $12 million?

I suppose it depends on what your home environment smells like. If you live next to a rendering plant, the 12 mil would be like a huge bonus...

Hell no. There is no greater trigger to memory than smell. In the end memories are what matter most.

like they say, money is the root of all evil. No I would not, never ever give up a sense for money, especially smell. I can still see memories of my grand mother and her place when I pass by a certain shrubbery or box hedge she used to have around her house and I havn't been there for at least 15 years.

well i diont really have a sense of smell to speak of anyway.... so i wont be mising much.

That's weird Aram. When I think of smell, I also think of my Grandparent's house. They tore it down over a decade ago.

About 5 years ago I was visiting someone in St Paul. We walked in by the back stairs and I almost freaked out because it was a weird combination of years of stale cigarettes, bacon fat, onions, and God knows what else. But it smelled great, just like Granny's.

yeah my grandmothers house was sold years ago but when I smell that plant, which is not often, I remember everything. I think out of all those years I have smelled that plant twice. Once just recently and I said something out load to my girlfriend about my grandmother. One of the best memories is crawling under all the box hedges as a kid. There were paths under them where the dogs would run around.

I'd give up my sense of smell for that much at the drop of a hat. Just imagine all the water I'd save from not having to take a shower anymore!

Yeah, what fun would all that money be without your sense of taste???

Hell, I'd just eat cardboard then. Man, the cost-saving advantages of being sans smell are looking more and more attractive.
