"B" revision for 4 pin firewire port on HVX?

I think I dreamed this because I've not been able to find a single bit of information about this.

Did Panasonic release a "B" rev for the 4-pin FireWire port? I swear I either read or heard (or dreamed!) they had upgraded the connector and you could send in your camera to get the new "B" part installed.

Am I just crazy or is this true?

I think you had a crazy dream... but I would LOVE to be wrong...
(chanting) 6 PIN! 6 PIN! 6 PIN! 6 PIN! 6 PIN! 6 PIN!

Bob, Do you have a link I can drool over to support the info?

Or maybe Jan or Barry could confirm? I would love to get this adjustment made before I start getting really busy in a couple of months.

Thanks.

I have heard nothing of any revision. The only revisions to the HVX that I know of are:
a) a firmware update (applicable to all HVXs) and
b) a change to the way the battery tabs are designed.

Look in the "useful links" thread in the technical section for firmware updates. As to what it does, I don't really know; it seems to have helped the timecode sync issue when you power the camera off, but it didn't fix the timecode sync issue when toggling from MCR to VCR mode.

All the problems we have with the cheap, worthless 4-pin connector, and Panasonic has no comment about it?

Ah ha! It was the battery that I was thinking about.
