NOt sure what the latest is regarding wide-angle adapters for the HVX 202 is.

Are any made with 82 mm thread (not stepped up) ?

Anyone using this particular unit? (Century Optics .6)

I am aware of its limitations but can it be manually focussed at all zoom settings even though it does not appear to be zoom through?

Is it sharp at the widest end?

Can anyone post any grabs / samples of any wide angle adapters at widest position.? ( Comparison with adapter and standard lens would be brilliant.)

I've got the Century Optics 82mm 0.6x.

It MUST be used in AF mode, at which point the camera will switch to MACRO. It will maintain focus out to 30mm -- beyond that, it loses focus.

The adapter is reasonably sharp, but it does drop off a little at the edges. I have not noticed any CA.

Are you saying it can not be manually focused ("must").

30mm is a very short distance (1 and a quarter inches) ???

Doesnt sound what I am looking for unfortunately although it could be a D.O.F tool.

To be honest, I haven't tried focusing manually with the WA adapter because Century Optics says it must be used in AF mode. I'll try it and will report back as to whether it produces useful results, but I doubt it -- the fact that the camera reports being in MACRO mode indicates that you are dealing with an extremely narrow and close focusing range.

When I say the camera maintains focus out to 30mm I mean focal length, not object distance.

Appreciate you taking a look at it and clarifying the 30mm point.

Surely, it is focuseable manually and if so and if it produces sharp results at all focal lengths... it may suit my needs.

I like the fact it is 82mm based

OK, you CAN control the focus manually, but as I wrote before, the range is extremely narrow. I don't think you'll be able to get good selective focus with the Century Optics 0.6x WA adapter.
