Anybody ever buy here before? For Briteks

Do a search on Britek's here and see the responses. Most people here seem to not be too happy with their experience.

Buy a lot of extra globes - you're gonna need em. Check the laughable warranty information in that auction on Britek bulbs. They're completely aware that the globes have a very high failure rate and bend over backwards to sell you additional units and reject your claims for failures.

Do a search on Britek's fused, brittle plastic fixtures in this forum. It's really too bad, because I kinda like their soft boxes. Actually, on futher thought, they've all started falling apart too (delaminating reflective material inside).

One vote for pass. Fuses and globes anyone?

I actually solved the fuse problem for about $30.00. Still, a very cheap set, and cheaply built, but for a starter set, it did me wonders. Know what your buying, but if its what you can afford, take care of it and you can get some good use of it. And the softboxes are great.

Just wrap some aluminum foil around each fuse? Do you have any screen grabs of them thanks. Wish I could afford an Arri kit right now. Cool lights look nice as well.

I've seen those as well but haven't found much info about them they do look like Arri's which isn't a bad thing.

What do you mean excatly wrap aluminum foil around like the middle part or ends? I know stupid question.

thanks

A single strand of copper wire run from one cap to the other and placed into the fuse holder accomplishes the same thing.

It works, but the point is you shouldn't have to do this on a 300 or 600 or 1k commercial fixture. It isn't safe and Britek should solve the problem for their customers.
