Any word yet on a Pirates 3 trailer?

I think I am the only person who can't stand this film series.

My friend who works as a projectionist said they were going to get it this week, but it didn't come. Other than that, rumor is it will be shown on TV during Dancing With The Stars on the 19th of March.

The trailer or the actual film? :cheesy:

Clever.

But I really enjoy this series. It's definitely a go have fun popcorn flick, not a big "important" film. It entertains me for about 2 hours, and then it's over. And you don't have to talk about it for the next 4 days because it wasn't that deep.

Zak- You start breaking out your Barry Manilow, and we'll be forced to trank you.

As for the movie, I liked the first one. The second one was just ok. The story was alright, but it seemed that they were showcasing their sfx more than the storyline.

How many times have people heard the "Its just pure entertainment, turn your brain off fun" argument when they try and defend why they liked, or watched some big budget film.

I have heard it tons of times -- and that argument is flawed -- has been since my sister used it on "The Pest"

I personally liked Pirates II, and I don't have to justify it becase the film had cutting edge effects, a really solid performance from Bill and a pretty cool story.

But lets not split hairs here, compare pirates II with Ghostrider or Daredevil and lets get real, two are CRAP, the other is a solid popcorn film.

and thats another thing, films are not entertainment on one side, and important on another. being a sucky ass film with lots of effects is just as bad as being a sucky ass pretentious film about an issue.

My point, who cares, why am I even typing this... whatever.

Carry on.

I saw a trailer of sorts for it at comic-con. I don't care for the series either, I was waiting for kevin smith to come out after the disney/pirates panel.

I'm one of the few people who hated Pirates 1 and liked Pirates 2. I didn't really know what was going on, but it had a fun vibe and I bought into it. Plus those sea-people effects were COOL!

The only thing about Pirates 2 is the story wasn't that strong. Everything else was REALLY good - cinematography, editing, vfx, and the acting.
