Heres an Idea

Lets blow up the world

Anyone ever thought about creating units, one unit per every patch of filmmakers in a city. Al the units work together, to create one feature film.

For example. The film is about a bunny taking over the world, in a race against time Mickey Mouse has to stop the threat of a nuclear warhead armed by the bunny. The only question remains...this summer, when humanity lies in the hands of one mouse. What the hell will happen?

And so to create that, we work together...for instance. If the script called for a shot of LA blowing up, the people in LA would take shots of the city. Then from those shots....you start working on the CGI for them with another group of people who do Animation on the forums....they hand it back and blah blah blah, so on.

Did anyone know there was a sexual cure for hiccups? I'll never be able to see someone having the hiccups again without thinking about that now -_-

You might want to look into a group called Pixel Corps, they're set up sort of along these lines. Mostly for visual effects.

I have seen this set up many many times on fourms, and it has never worked or gone anywhere. It would be fun if it worked, though.

Its late and Im just obsessed with explosives. I hope to live in LA some day myself.

No im quite serious about it, seems theres been lots of attempts that went crappy after about 48 hours though.

You could always mix Speed with Operation Swordfish (they flew a bus over a city... I think that's what that scene was from). Anyway, if the bus dropped below 50 yards it would blow up and take the whole city with it... just a thought...

I <3 speed, it was the film that got me into filmmaking. Probably explains for the obsession of explosives to...but whatever happend to Jan De Bont?

Anyway I never seen that Operation Swordfish, but I think Im going to look it up now after reading that.. lol

Looks like the last thing he was involved with was in 1992... I guess he retired?

Yeah, definitely check out Operation Swordfish... it's worth watching just for the opening sequence. John Travolta trash talking modern films... and then the film winds up being just what he's talking about... go figure... hehe

Well he did 'Twister' in 1996, then i think 'Speed 2' 1997, he seems to have gone missing after that.

But yeah, Im gonna watch that on 'alluc' and post back here when im done.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA...

Sorry, but DVX-Ben, your avatar of Gunther just put me over the top. If only people knew the severity of Gunthers work! Good to see someone else sporting the "Tooty Fruity Summer Love"

We actually tried this very thing here on dvxuser a couple years ago. Everyone was psyched in the beginning and then it just fizzled as the momentum died off.
