Color Calibration of Vegas Twin Monitors.

Hi just recieved my system. Ive set it up with 2 lcd monitors. However one looks slightly mismatched to the other one. You can tell theres a difference in color tones (more noticable on the whites). If it helps to inform you this is coming out from an NVIDIA 7300GS video card. The card has 1 DVI and 1 analogue output. So we had to put a convertor plug to make the DVI into analogue. Is this one if the reasons why theres a mild color difference ? And primarily how can i solve this problem or calibrate my monitors to similar tonal quality ?

Your card drivers should have calibration options to handle this for you. Only thing I'd say, though, is that the Nvidia calibration tends toward having the screens pretty dark. But once you run it, they should match pretty well, even if you have to brighten the screens.

Hi
I have 2 LG 1970 monitors and my analog is doing the same . I have them closely matched but there is a big difference when viewing . Must be the digital that makes the difference .
Jarred did a write up on a device that will calibrate both monitors .
Cheap if I remember .

Are your monitors different models of same brand? If so, different brand too?

I will have two of the same exact model, and they will also be running off an Nvidia (gForce 7600 GT). So I guess I will do the same as you. Try the NVIDIA dual calibration.
Or will this not be necesary since they are the same (and bought 4 days appart so hopefully same exact batch even)...?

Slightly off topic:
What then calibration-wise? What do you do then? Should I feed bars from the HVX if I will be using only that camera? Sorry if that wasn't thought through and completely stupid, I just want to keep it open ended and hear it from you guys.

All same model, same brand, Ditto twins. I wouldnt do something that nerdish of getting 2 different types of monitors...lol.

The auto calibration has been run. From within the color calibrate menu. Still theres a difference,,,one looks brighter. But increasing the brightness on the latter one doesnt match to the brighter one. Very Tough to do this manually. You dont know what combination of values on contrast, RGB presets etc will team up to give a perfect match. I also tried having both of them set with all the same values number for number for each and every control. No use.

I think it's Pantone that makes a device called a Spider that helps calibrate monitors to Pantone's standards. Not sure how well that would play with Vegas, but it works great if you're Photoshopping or Illustratoring. ;-)
