Celluloid -vrs-Magic Bullet Editors v2.0 upgrade

Hello,
Having used and seen the results of Magic Bullet Editors color correction, I would like to consider the upgrade to v2.0 @ 99$. Celluloid w/Reelpak 1 @24$ offers the speed of render, and that alone, is one BIG consideration. But how do the two compair in CC quality and flexibility? and the ability to control adjustments for that LOOK, you desire. Has anybody seen a review of either yet to compair?
Cheers,
Christo

Well, I've tried the trial of MB 2 and I use the Reelpaks. Go with the Celluloid unless you don't like money. lol It does the exact same thing. I don't know, they both work good, but it's really the same thing and MB is pricey. Honestly, once I installed all those MB presets, when I went to use them, there's only a couple I'd ever really use. I always go to the same few ones and tweak them how I need. Suggestion: look up "hiro"'s work here on the board. He uses Vegas w/ no plugins, just layering CC (essentially what Reelpak does - it just helps you get there quicker). His stuff looks just like MB. $75 can buy a lot of tape stock, etc.

Yeah, I use basic Vegas correction over MB all the time. The only thing that MB does for me, is when I want a soft blow out "Glow" to my image. MB just does something that the Sony Glow cannot, or at least not in my hands.

Thanks for that heads up Bio, I noticed that I create a lot of fine tuned film settings, (looks) rather than use the presets offered. Maybe the presets are just a reference so one can than tweezel in on the sweet spot. Have you the ability to swizzel those settings in Celluloid ReelPaks, to allow for your own custom presets as in MB 2? I find that a artistic dream. The Render time is my hang up with MB, too long and one cannot multitask while rendering due to the cpu hog. I just loaded Vista Home Premium 64-bit. and Vegas 6d loaded fine. That may make some difference in render time. I hear Vista is more stable than XP, I'll report my findings...

You can do it. Duplicate the clip on a track right above your main clip. Then, make it brigther, blur it in the extreme, and lower its opacity. Season to taste.

The render time will be brutal, but that's more or less what MB does, just internally.
