voted! some really beautiful pics in this batch. although i totally missed that we could "doctor" the photos if we wanted. oh well, i prefer natural anyhow...

3 mins to voting deadline. I hope we can see some results tonight. I dont imagine mine will place, but I hope the ones I realy enjoyed get the high marks.
 
Results will open automatically in 50 minutes according to the server's time where the site resides.

I don't have a problem with this, but I will not be voting for others pics if I have entered one of my own. That would be voting against mine. I may or may not be the only one who feels like this. You can argue that it’s how you play the game and not who wins, but...

I really do like the competition. It really pushes me to work hard on photography and Photoshop. I hope it continues for a long time.

How many people who don't enter photos vote?


BTW I really like the Photos this round. The Ants are amazing. And I really liked the Wasp and Bird.

Congrats Virum! The fish may have won had the composition been a little better. Yours had great composition, appropriate DOF, and good contrast between the subject and background. I think that's what clinched it for you.

Steve and I monitor each vote and voter individually. Any votes that are suspect (for example, everyone votes 6-9 for an image and then there is a 1) is dealt with directly.

We have a complete breakdown of every single vote and who it was cast by.

If you feel you are voting against your own images that is your right to feel how you would like, but when I say that we are monitoring the votes to ensure that there is no ballot stuffing or intentional deep sixing I mean it.

Good round, lots of good images...

Don't see it this way, as such limitation is applied to all users who have their images on the contest. So noone is voting for his images. It is exactly the same thing as all together agreeing that we will rate our images a 10.

To calm your concerns, here is an example of how voting works. If 10 users vote for the images + 1 (you) who can't vote on your image, you are not counted as a rating value. Meaning the sum will be divided by 10 AND NOT 11. See?
It is a very fair system.
And this had to be done because some users were rating their images and some not. If you vote 8 for your image as an honest rate and the other user gives his 10, you are instanly put in a disadvange position because the value will count.

And as Jeremy said each vote is checked with others and there are users that have been banned for not playing fair.
