One more reason to love Texas (sarcasm)

So, experiencing another new Texas phenomenom -- the dust storm. First one I've seen in the two years we've been here. We were out in it a bit earlier and the horizon was yellow. Now everything is yellow. It's like LA on a bad day, only without the ocean or PacCoast Highway to make it worthwhile. At least it's not a hundred and three out, too.

I've never been to Texas. Believe it or not, its on my list! I've heard great things about Houston and even better things about Corpus Christi...

Corpus Christi is one of my favorite places in the world. Lots of people ride their cars out to the beaches in Padre Island and sleep there to watch the beautiful sunrise the next morning. It's a great place.

Austin is a fun place. With acutal hills and trees. We're in Dallas. We've made a lot of friends and are generally enjoying ourselves, but the landscape leaves much to be desired. Kansas City looks like an oasis compared to the glory of Plano.

Agreed. I've been here in Dallas for about 6 years now, and I still totally miss the beach (came from Miami). The tight-knit film industry is great, though, and everyone seems to have enough work to go around.

I have a couple friends who have told me Dallas is a pretty cool place for work.

yeah, I have friends who do a lot of work in Dallas at a place called : "Directors." Seems like a good place to get gigs, if you get in.

But the dust storms...er, seen a hail storm there? Or the Car Dealers' "After Hailstorm" sales? Those mo-fos are serious.

We saw a lot of reference material from Texas hailstorms while we were doing 'Day After Tomorrow.'

I think that Texas thunderstorms go a long way toward making up for Texas dust storms.

Ditto on that. Cannot say many nice things about my experiences in TX but they do have some spectacular thunderstorms. The kind of stuff that literally makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up.

I frickin' love that!

Well, I've seen that movie and can honestly say watching a real one is a LOT more entertaining :)
