Resident Evil: Extinction aka how to ruin a great franchise.

well they guy attached to makes it suck. i think anything source material that is cult can make the turn over.

He should have his damned budget limited to like 500k. I bet he'd pull some awesome crap out of his ass then. He's like a high school student with an unlimited budget.

I WANT NINJAS!!! YEAH AND I WANT HER TO FLY IN THE DESERT!!!

I saw a trailer for this and thought "Wow, they're really straying from the games now, aren't they?" I thought at first it was going to be some kind of Road Warrior re-make, then Milla Jovovich came on screen with the zombies. I don't play videogames anymore, but when I did, the resident Evil games were my favorite. And for a while I even liked the first movie, until I came to my senses and realized it was pretty bad. And not because it wasn't like the games, but just because it was totally abysmal on its own. So naturally, I lost interest and skipped the second one. But based on the trailer for Extinction, I'm assuming I'm not missing much.

The coolest thing about the 2nd film was it was filmed in Toronto. Seeing your city hall over run with zombies is fricken cool. Until you see the movie.

I still like the first movie. I think it's one of my more favorite zombie pictures...pretty far behind Night of the Living and Dawn and Day of the Dead but way ahead Return of the Living Dead or House of the Dead.

The second one just blew.

Unless Milla gets naked and rolls around on the floor with a Steyr AUG, I think I'll pass on the third one.

The closest thing I've seen in a movie that resembled the RE games was the scene in Pan's Labrynth with the guy with eyes on his hands. Something about the banquet table. That guy should direct the next movie. Although, it's too late now. It's been ruined.

I love Return of the Living Dead.

Well...okay, If you really loved me, you'd let me eat your brain and Send more paramedics are admittedly brilliant.

I bet if Gans and Avery tackled the RE series instead of W.S. Anderson we all would be a lot happier.

Better still... give the RE series to James Gunn.

Sad Max, you're lucky you haven't seen the sequels.

I thought Return of the Living Dead 3 had some interesting ideas, though it wasn't a very good movie (e.g. it had some very stupid ideas too, like kids sneaking around in top secret army bases :)). Haven't seen any other sequels, but the first movie was great.

The Resident Evil movies sucked right from the start though.

Bah, there are lines like that in the second one, I think. It has been so long. I remember some guy talking to his zombie girlfriend of something like that and then he let her eat his brains. I think they were sitting in a car.

I dunno...with hard-drives-stuffed-with-classified-data vanishing on a monthly basis, and F-14 parts being sold to our only enemies who fly 'em, maybe kids sneaking around secret army bases isn't so farfetched.

I actually don't think Anderson's a horrible director, I just think he directs really bad scripts, usually his own. I wouldn't mind him directing if he would just direct a script that wasn'r REALLY lame.

I didn't see the second one, but judging from the first one, the directing isn't bad, it's the friggin god aweful screenplay
