Kholi, what are you talking about, the 3rd film looks like Mad Max: The Road Warrior with zombies!

No matter how bad this series gets and currently is, it has zombies!

ARG! it's not supposed to look like MAD MAX with zombies. It's supposed to be Survival Horror.

Paul WS Anderson ripped the RE franchise apart from day one of the first RE movie. Sigh...

That's what I meant, though.
 
Oh, I know what you meant. If I had a choice, I would rather him helm this series for life than have had anything to do with AVP.

PS - There is no such thing as survival when dealing with zombies. Those bastards always win! :zombie_smiley::zombie_smiley::zombie_smiley:
 
I think Boll is better than Anderson, at least he isn't formulaic. Give Boll 40+ million and I bet he could have made a better AVP. Or at least one that had blood!
 
thats the reason i had RE is mila.... he write for his wife i hate that ****. thats why we get RE and underworld... guys writing for their wives.......
 
because they basically have the names atitle of of story they have completely fVcked. should be called sands of the dead
 
People just don't like his vision/take on the Resident Evil game series. Adapting anything with a hardcore fan base will upset people, regardless how close it stays to the original story or how far it goes away. It is a different medium, just like adapting a novel or book, so adapting it into a movie, it will be a different experience.

Not to mention, the films are really bad!
 
yeah they suck plus they are so far from the story is about its like watching a cartoon now.
 
You should say the same about super hero films :violin:, they are mostly off course from their comic stories. Just take a look at Burton's Batman, most people like that film, yet it is the furthest away from the truth behind Batman and the murder of the Waynes.

For adapted movies (games, books, comics, etc.) I personally treat everything as an "alternate universe" and expect it to be different. If I wanted something the same, I would just go to the original source.
 
yeah but when millions of people dont play games go and watch it thinking thats how it was intended to its like no no no!!!!!!!
 
Obviously it is not intended to be the same as the game. I don't remember any Resident Evil movies even being marketed as the same as the game.

They are just bad movies, loosely based on the games.
 
yeah but when you just take the name and element virus and added the main characters just for fun and wrap it around character not even in the game its like wtf plus none of th event that are in the movie are in the game and vice versa the only they have are zombies so why not jsut call it something different
 
hell give it the japanese title biohazard not many people know it originally called that at least be cool if you're going to adapt something
 
Because attaching the name to it helps make more money! These movies are not made to be art, or advance film in any way, they barely contain entertainment, but they do make money!
 
yea i know but you have to think about this zombie movies make money no matter what unless they are so low budget no one would watch. i just think if i were going to adapted it at least make it interested and close to source material not the opposite
 
Spidey, here is the sad thing. Even if it followed the story line, it would probably still be a POS.
 
Point is that the movies suck and shouldn't be called Resident Evil. There's not a single RE that takes place in the freaking Desert.

Zombies in the Dunes... sounds like better name for this garbage. It doesn't have to follow THE storyline. SILENT HILL didn't follow an exact game storyline, but it was much more succesful in execution of it's mechanics than any Resident Evil movie.

I would've been six levels more satisfied if the very first Resident Evil movie played out like an indie horror in a massive mansion. Sadly, we get kung fu action and a totally plastic plot. This third one is wicked bad already.
