What's all this spyfest talk about?

fine... I'm out... whatever. Don't bother to see the films I've shot, or the stuff I post in the Avid and photo sections.

Touchey today no? Ive watched your movies, i have no reason to go into an avid board and ive seen your photos and posts in there, they are hard to miss. Whats your point?

So iv'e been doing test shots for Spyfest, my entry is titled "Frozen River." The first scene takes place on The Charles River in Boston and it is, as the title states, frozen. I have some great shots of the river with the Boston Skyline etc..

Today I went out there during Lunch and it was bright with the ice and the snow and I was in a rush. As I am looking in my LCD, I was saying to myself, "wow, everything seems really blue." I took my sunglasses off, just figured it was all the glare and quickly took some handheld shots. When I came home, I downloaded the footage and yes it was blue. I realized my white blance was on a preset tungsten. DOOOH!

The funny thing is I like the look. I had been taking the color temp down the last couple of days. I don't know if I wanted it as blue as it is, but it definitely gives off a cold european spy vibe, perfect for the scene. So maybe the rookie stumbled on to something.

yeah, especially the russian stuff at the end of the last one. That's what the footage reminded me of a little bit.

Morel of the story, always wear protection when watching 24

LOL,

There are so many good one liners to respond to that with... however, i'll restrain from doing so.

Let's NOT turn this into a filthhouse. :)

Which is exactly why I restrained. :Drogar-Dum(DBG):

Plus dude, I just want to say that after watching the film over the weekend several times, I've been trying to give the most extensive review possible. The deadline I've set for myself to send it to you is tomorrow.

I love Brandon. :) There may be hope for the world yet.

Thanks Jack! :) You know that means a lot. Even if it was somewhat sarcastic, hehe. :dankk2:

Thanks zach.. though I am worried now, since I was hoping most of the reviews would simply say,

"Awesome! nuff said!"

HAHA! :) J/K! Thanks for taking the time!

How goes the pre production everyone? We just finished casting yesterday and are doing wardrobe concept photos tomorrow.

K, I'm seriously starting to get a little concerned ... are they only going to allow 2 months for production vs. the standard 3 months in the past? I'm only curiuos because we're now deep into February, films are supposed to be due May 1st, yet they still haven't officially announced a thread section, rules, etc.

Before people go writing the scripts & complete stories, it would be good for us to know what rules we have to build into the film, especially if they're specific character names, props, or anything of the such.

Otherwise, Rebecca & I secured our main location yesterday, and have a story we really like & solidified yesterday as well. I have another trip to Miami this coming Monday, which will be perfect for me to write the script on during the flight. Just REALLY want to know all the rules prior to then.

Indeed. I hope the deadline gets pushed to June 1. I'm going to need some time to pull off my first 'Fest entry right. Or at least less wrong.

And Brandon -- is she coming over tonight to watch Heroes on the Tivo?

Heroes is the bomb ... mine & my wife's favorite.

I'd actually prefer for it to be over with by May 1st, as we have a big trip in May that would otherwise cut into the schedule, and I tend to push things till the last minute, I've learned. Also, with the feature this summer, I can't afford to cut any closer into that schedule as well.

Just want to hurry & hear the official rules.
