DV Rack 2 not recording 1080 from HVX200?

DV Rack 2.0 HD shows a picture over firewire for all 720 settings (except N) but will not show a picture for 1080 settings. Other components indicate a signal is coming through.

Any suggestions? A search of this board and Serious Magic forum revealed no answers.

Is it a setting on HVX 200 I am missing?

Or, more likely in DV Rack (although 720 shows just fine...).

Thanks as always Barry. Appears to just be a video refresh "bug". Closing the monitors in DV Rack and then reopening them fixed the problem.

Hopefully it won't repro.

UPDATE----

I can reliably repro this with HVX200 and DV Rack 2.0 HD. Essentially, if you start up DV Rack 2.0 and only have the 4:3 or 16: 9 monitor AND you are sending 1080i data to DV Rack, running on Vista, the image will not show in these specific DV Rack Devices/Monitors.

If you start the 720P Monitor Device, and view that Monitor then the others start working also. I have reproduced this on two idential Dell Laptops running Vista.

It could be something specific with my setup, of course....

DEFRAG IN VISTA
A properly defragmented HD is critical for proper operation of DV Rack.

As another note, DEFRAGMENT HD feature on Vista has been changed and the best way to run Defrag on Vista is to use the command line tool. Otherwise you will not be provided with defrag status or progress info. More info can be found here: http://www.howtohaven.com/system/vistadefragmentation.shtml

The commands from your CMD or Windows PowerShell (very cool new technology! www.microsoft.com/powershell) prompt are:

Analysis of C: drive:

defrag c: -a -v

Full defragmentation of C: drive:

defrag c: -v -w

--- Other bug in DV Rack running on Vista
I get multiple repeat entries on the DEVICES right-click option. So the microphone and camera device will be represented multiple times. It is important to select the first one for your target device from the list.

-- Install of DV Decoder Pack
This does not successfully install on my version of Vista Ultimate - error is that a specific dll can not be registered during the install process.

Vista is not supported at this time by Adobe / Serious Magic so I am just trying to document these issues in case any one else comes across them.
