On The Lot deadline has passed

Now that the deadline has passed, who entered? Links to your movie?

Mine has professional music in it and therefore can't be posted on the site.

I would be shocked if at least a couple of people from this site weren't chosen.
 
i thought about entering a movie trailer i did for "fun" during my spare. i shot, directed, and edited the entire thing all by myself for "mere pennies". i used no special lenses and most of the audio was from the microphone on the dvx.

but i didn't want to be accused of being a liar so i didn't enter.

As someone who's edited a few reality shows, I decided against entering. I'd be putting myself at the mercy of reality show producers, who have the power to make you look as shallow, stupid and ugly as they want you to. Reality show producers rate on the trustworthiness scale somewhere between used car salesmen and Karl Rove.

totally, I mean if i was actually lucky enough to make it on the show, I would probably humiliate myself. And even if I won, I'd always be that guy who won that TV contest, plus there's expectation of what you make with that develepment deal.

same with PGL, great show, but I'd never want to be on it. I'll stick with doing it the old fashion way.
 
A friend of mine got a call while we were on set on Friday and learned that she made it to the second level. Speilberg himself is going to be watching her film... really exciting!
 
kholi, I didn't shoot on a dvx (just a camcorder) so I haven't posted it on dvxuser. I haven't even uploaded it to the web yet. But when I do (which should be soon), I'll post the link.
 
i decided to wait till next time i figure i would see what the competition level is of the show and what they are looking for.

dude, I have to say that you're the most negative member on this site in my eyes. Most of what I read from you is completely out of line.

Do you research, it wasn't c.g._eads that posted that "for fun" trailer.

WOW! That's GREAT news..... I didn't get a call like that so I guess I'm out. sucks. Good luck to your friend.

ok, maybe it's just how I've been reading into it. sorry man. I know you're a cool fella, sometimes I chuckle at what you say but a majority of the time I think to myself, geez, this dude has way too many mood swings. lol
 
This is exactly why i didnt enter. I got a million emails from friends and family pointing me to that site too. I didn't want to be known as "that guy from the lot" if i were to make it on.
I did think of entering and acting bizarre and really angry to see if they would choose me just for the possible drama someone like that would cause.

Um, Aram, that wouldn't be acting for you...

But yeah, I have to admit, the number one reason I did not even look into this in depth was the reality show factor. It's just a different objective than making your film the best film it can be.
 
LOL. I have the longest fuse out of anyone. I can put up with a lot of bs but when its enough, its time to move on.

Another reason i didnt enter was I didnt want girls chasing me around all the time.
 
My excuse is that I work for a FOX Television Show, and I believe that makes me ineligible. And I agree with Mark on the reality show factor. But it will be an amazing oppurtunity for anyone who does get on. Maybe not the oppurtunity some of the people on this site would be looking for, but an oppurtunity nonetheless.

Drama gets viewers. Look at Santori from Project runway, I hated his designs but he was the biggest ass and made for good TV. Also, in there disclaimer it says that the producers have the final say who gets kicked off that show.
