Using Edius to read mxf files - then edit in Vegas.

I prefer to edit using Vegas - but don't have Raylight to convert P2 content - however, I do have Edius Broadcast. I'm wondering if I bring the mxf files into Edius then 'print to file' - can't I then take those new exported files and edit them in Vegas? If so, what would be the best export settings to ensure I'm not losing info?

Please help this HVX newbie - thank you:)

I do the same when i wanna work in After effects: Export the files as Canopus HQ-codec with a high quality....some people use losless, but i think 99% should be fine with a high Canopus HQ....you will end up with avi files, if you dont have vergas on the same machine, make sure you install the free playback canopus codecs....!

Anyway, i guess the new raylight makes life much easyer for you and vegas...search a little on that..!

You could, but why do that? Just get Raylight, and you can drag the MXF files straight to the timeline in Vegas.

Raylight is an absolute MUST HAVE for anyone wanting to work with Vegas and the HVX. It blows away any alternative and turns Vegas into a viable HVX editing platform. It'll even strip out 1080/24pA advanced pulldown on-the-fly.
