Need serious help with Ledctrosonic 201/LM setup...

Hello, all:

I'm having real difficulty getting a Lectrosonic wireless usable on my camera. The under's manual isn't really any help.

Is there anyone who can walk me through this? I'm really in a pinch. Any help is greatly appreciated.

If you can call me, I'm happy to pay you for your time on the phone.

What is your issue?

I will take a shot in the dark and guess you haven't set the compatibility mode on the LM for the 200 series. Instruction on how to do that are in the manual (involves toggling unit on and off, switching the frequency and toggling on and off again).

Hope that helps.

(I will send you my paypal address and you can send me my $60 consultation fee, jk :) )

OK, Oleg, I will ask him...Dougie, how many times does the light blink when you turn it on? :)

(We can split the $60 Oleg)

yes, yes, I know...I'm pretty brain dead with these wireless mics.

The two lights on the transmitter blink twice, which, from what I can tell from the user's manual, that means it's set up for the UCR201, which I've got.

check the fq on the reciever , if you have FF , YOU NEED the same FF would display when you push the menu

OK, one down...What is the specific issue? Is the reciever getting a signal? Have you set their freq. to match (or as Oleg suggested, are they even in the same block)? Signal not coming out of the reciever?

If we have to keep guessing, then we might have to start the billing clock for real.

It's too late now, but Lectrosonics will answer (for free) just about any question or solve any issue if you give them a call. They are only open business hours MST but for future reference give them a try.

Cheers

Okay, here's the deal:

When I turn on transmitter, it blinks twice. For use with 201, I assume.

Here is what the two frequency knobs on the side of the transmitter are set like this:

1.6MHz dial is pointing at "2"
100kHz dial is pointing at "5"

When the transmitter turns on, the P is blinking in upper left hand corner, and there is little to no signal strength.

The frequency setting on the receiver is set to "TV63" and it says it's at 767.700.

What do I need to change, and how?

If we need to do a phone call, I'm cool with that. Do you take Visa? =)

The reciever should also have 2 digits after the freq (for example 23, A3, C9, etc). You did not list these but I think I have your problem. As it turns out I just happen to also be on block29 and ch63 is at the very top of block29 while your transmitter, which is 2,5, is tuned somewhere near the bottom of the block (ch59). They need to match.

Turn off your transmitter, turn on your reciever. Hit all three buttons similtaniously, this starts the freq scan. After you find an empty frequency hit 3 buttons again and push USE NEW. It will show you the new freq and have two digits after that. Turn your LM to those digits.

After your turn LM on, you should be getting a signal now...I take Paypal ;-)

Cheers
