Based on this Short Film, would you do a Feature? (Film inside)

I have just completed a 1 Minute Short that I made in the Wild with an XL2. Stock lense, no filters or any kind of mods.Based on what you see in this film, do you think it would have an audience and be worthy of a feature film? The Feature Film, if it were to be made, would be similair to March of the Penguins, except that it would encompass a variety of different species. It is 35 MB. The server is very fast: http://www.arteia.com/films.html

If it was 90 minutes of that, no. The great thing about March of the Penguins was that the struggle itself was epic, against the mother of all opponents, nature itself. The winds, the cold, predators and death. However, encompassing a variety of species could be more interesting - the colours and such are very nice, but I'd definitely want to see much more - the short told me next to nothing. Even in your short, I need to see more - there's one shot introducing the character - good. Then there's 20 more seconds of that. No dice, mix it up. Let me see what it does, what it's eating.

Every shot should advance your story, but you only have two shots, one of which is repeated far too often, too much black for no reason, and credits that are longer than your film. The cinematography looks nice (though it would be nicer w/ a tripod IMHO), but the story needs help.

If you're asking are spiders interesting enough for a lengthy documentary, then I would say yes, they are... especially spiders as cool as this one!

It could take a very very long time to get enough footage worthy of creating a feature out of... but if you're up for it I say dig in! Just make sure to include action-filled spider battles!

Some good points. Thank you for the feedback! I agree with you on almost everything, except the tripod. This maybe more of a preference, but I feel that handheld gives me alot more freedom to be creative on the shot vs a tripod. I wonder where others stand on this?

Thanks Owen. The film would not be about spiders, but about many other creatures and the wild in general.

Oh. I was thinking "March of the Spiders" ...with a b-storyline that takes a look at a little moth family, and in the end the moth ends up in the spider's web. A tragic tale to be sure.

Simply, yes! Spiders PWN, i bet the orly owl was the one who got him. :( Seriously though, who doesnt love to watch nature, especially insects and arachnids?

Anybody watch "ANT WARS" in HD on Discovery HD? that *$*% PWNT! The ants ripped apart a poor crab, felt hella sad. They got a slug , who put up a hell of a fight but the Ants were just too many and too smart. Used dirt to soak up his protective slime barrier then ripped him apart.

hey you made me laugh lol when four days later popped up and nothing was left but legs lol
