easy montage software

Hey guys & girls,

Looking to find some software for a PC that is super easy to use. What I need done is to take digital photos and throw them onto a timeline with music and burn them to dvd.

That's all it really has to do!

My problem is I am a MAC guy, and this software is a gift for my parents who want to start archiving their photo's in a cool way. Did a google search and browsed about 10 diff. types and was still lost.

Suggestions, reviews and thoughts are all welcome!!

Thanks for the reply NCJE. Haven't used the software before but is it as simple as dragging and dropping items onto a timeline, adding some text and burning?

I don't have access to a PC at all so its hard for me to go out and test this stuff first, especially when they're half way across the country!

I have seen a product called "Imaginate" by Canopus which is made just for this but I don't have direct experience with it.

Personally, for this kind of work I always use Vegas and love the ease with which I can make a really impressive photo montage that makes the photos really come to life. Its all in the "keyframing" feature which makes it so easy to animate the picture movement to just about anything you can imagine.
 
I too use Vegas and there is a plugin from VASST called Utlimate S that has an incredible montage feature. I can build a montage in a couple of minutes with that thing. Well worth the price for that feature alone.
 
I'll chime in with a Vegas plug as well. Very easy and very powerful. If the price is an issue you could probably find an older version much cheaper. They just released V7 a few months ago, so anything six or earlier would be fine for what you're trying to do.
 
i have muvee producer which i got from muvee.com and i got movie maker from ulead.com
but wow that memories on tv looks awesome the stuff i have dont do any of the stuff memories does from what i saw on the demo, i wish i had known about that one before i got the two i bought. but maybe ill get the memories on tv and trash the other 2.
 
i bought movies on tv and wow it blows it away the other 2 i got. great product. i wish avid would make some thing like this so they could intergrate.
 
im having trouble with my memories on tv, first i cant get it to export an avi so my avid can import it and second i cant get it to import video for backgrounds to use on my montage?
