My blood recipe has failed me . . . for the last time

Here's what I'm using:

1 c. Karo Syrup

1 Tbsp Water

2 Tbsp Red Food Coloring

1 tsp Yellow Food Coloring

When pushed through a plastic tube with an injector, this **** goes everywhere. I wanted the blood to blot a t-shirt, but instead of soaking into the shirt, the blood mix runs shoots out of the tube and runs down the shirt.

My question to you guys: what's the best mix to pump through a three-foot tube.

Less karo syrup actually would be best. Karo won't soak into a T Shirt so well. What about liquid soap, water and red and yellow food coloring (maybe even some soy sauce like the last poster said or chocolate syrup may be a bonus too for a darker looking blood).

It has been a while, but I found that a little bit of Joy dishwashing liquid gives it a great consistency and the yellow tint adds to the color.

What about when the actors need to spit this stuff out? (ie. Shot in the lung, or throat sliced) I'd doubt dishwashing soap will taste that good or be as safe! :)

i use light karo syrup, a dash of water red and GREEN food coloring. You might try closing the end of the tube a bit or use the end of a turkey baster.

no sponge will probably just jam it up, try smaller and smaller tubes or like I stated, a turkey baster. It has a smaller opening at the end. Something simple, go to a hardware store and look around.
