Dissolve from color to black & white in same shot

I have done it before so I know it is possible.

I have a shot that will start in color and end in black and white. How do you cross dissolve the shot from color to black and white?

nvm i copied the shot so it was the same on video 1 and video 2
then made video 2 black and white and key framed it to start at 0% and end at 100%
then key framed video 1 to start at 100% and end at 0%

exactly what i did the first time i tried but somehow it worked the second time

or you could key frame the saturation from 100 to 0
