What's all this spyfest talk about?

Well...whoever enters...please get the pixel aspect ratio right when you finsih. Please, please, please.

Whole bunch of unnaturally skinny or squat and chubby people in the current fest entries.

Well, maybe not a whole bunch, but enough. (No one got points taken off for it, though. I'm not that picky.)

Im not that picky either, but it was annoying. And also wierd that people couldnt get the size of the video correct either. 255 max and i saw some like 350 and what not.

AH, what was the file size limit? 50mb? I noticed the same prob in horror though with frame size, thanks for the clarification blaine.

alot of interlacing ugliness this round too. :(

Actually the file size limit was 40mb this go around. Yeah, there were some interlacing problems.

a crazy idea would be to shoot the entire movie in one take.

I forgot what movie was made like this...I think it might be a European film. It was based on a play where everything was happening at the same time, and it was shot in one take. I think it took them 4 takes to get it perfect.

several films have been done in "one take," including one of the horrorfest entries from last year. and I was recently approached to do a spyfest entry like this. I would be a really fun exercise..

The beginning of Serenity is all in one take and was well done , but thats expected from Joss. Perfection.

I remember a sick ass X files that was all 1 take, well 4 takes because of commercials, but it was a damn good one.

I didnt like the horrorfest entry that was in 1 take. Not well executed or a good format imo to do one take.

It was pretty cool. Not all one take though. They used two completely disconnected sets for the upper/lower levels of the ship and hid the splice in a cleverly placed whip pan.

Nice sig, Miata.

I'm trying to get a music video off the ground that's supposed to be all one take, deep staging... it'll be very cool if it ever gets done, but since it's one take, the location has to be pretty much perfect, and this is a big problem right now. I do not recommend this method unless you have a VERY good crew and plenty of time. Otherwise you will end up with bad performances and endless little glitches that will drive you crazy until the end of time.
