What's all this spyfest talk about?

I also think it would be nice if Panny steps up with some prizes. How bout a new HVX or DVX to the winner.
We gave away a (used) DVX and a new HVX. But it had to come from us; it was Jarred's own DVX, and Jarred and I teamed up with Abel Cine to buy a new HVX for the HorrorFest. But no, those weren't donated items, we had to buy 'em.

Panasonic, to my knowledge, has never supported a Fest by offering prizes.
They have donated some prizes before; in our early fests, including a $900 anamorphic adapter for a DVX, and tapes and such.

I guess just one more reason to thank you guys and why I love being on this site

You don't have to have an MBA in Marketing to know that Panasonic should get behind this. It is short money for a ton of exposure in their target market.

I got a question: How many people aren't doing actualy Spies? Like covert operatives?

Who's doing something that just has someone spying as part of it? Like how the name ERIC was just a part of drama fest entries. A prop.

I'm thinking about just 6 minutes of footage through a peep-hole into a woman's shower. I win.

Im not sure a professional company would want to tie themselves too close to a publically available message board more than they are right now with Jan. I real sponsership where they give away a camera would be a big deal as well diluting the community here which is what dvxuser is all about, Community. Otherwise you get a dorito contest full of bad movies...but then again...

Question:

Question:

Could a woman wearing dark wig, glasses and trench coat be classified as a spy? If so, I think I got a story....

Has there ever been a stronger contrast of someone wanting to be photographed v. someone not wanting to be photographed.

Don't forget the diaper!
Oh, I know. Also can't forget the pepper spray, steel mallet, BB gun, black gloves, folding knife with a 4-inch blade, rubber tubing and trash bags.

Best story of 2007 so far.

I suppose, from Barry's previous post on another thread, if we want to stay true to THIS forum, then the cameras used should be dvx/hvx. It does leave those with Canon and Sony out, but I do understand what Barry said, it's a valid point. If they are pushing prizes our way, shouldn't the contestants then reflect the community?

I don't care what cameras people use, but it's logical to keep it within the "family" of the heart of this community.

Man, "letting" non dvx/hvx cams complete in the fest seems counter productive? Eats at the fabris of this community? blah.... Are you kidding me? I'm very much a part of this communtiy, so are guys like disjecta & elton who contribute a huge amount of help to other members both canon and panny. What makes us a strong communtiy? We do..... Not our brand or tape type..... This is the best and maybe even biggest filmmaking community online and I'll bet that a good percentage of the members either don't own their panny anymore or never did own one.

DTC Productions might offer assistance to a film this next Fest instead of making one our selves, (we are still debating about doing another one so soon, the last one broke our bank). So we might be able to help out Brandon... but we'll also force you to actually finish it :Drogar-Evil(DBG):
