What's all this spyfest talk about?

that's bs. I'm competative by nature and also have been a contributing member of this forum for a couple yrs now so if I shoot a film along with my filmmaking brothers (that's how I look at you guys) then I want to be judged in the same format as you guys.

Woah! Not how I meant it. I meant that, in my opinion, the point of the festivals is to make films and get feedback, not to win prizes or accolades. If I owned a Canon I'd make a film along side everyone else. I don't think having a non-comp film should stop anybody. My filmmaking brothers can use whatever camera they want as far as I'm concerned. I'll watch the film all the same.

Again, just my two cents.

it's cool my friend, I know you meant good.

Brandon, I didn't even notice it until you said that... cool! I'm back to being me now, lol.

That's three months, just like every other fest we've had. Or maybe if deadline is three weeks after SpyFest goes up.

Maybe there could be one prize awarded in the Best Spyfest Film, Other Cameras category?

I'd bet you could get a sponsor behind that.

Seems counter productive to me and not really what this place is about. I can see how it would be reasonable if say, Barry did a Canon Bootcamp, and a Canon DVD Bootcamp, and Canon Book, but he doesnt, this is a Panny based placed.

Theres always the non competing.

I also think it would be nice if Panny steps up with some prizes. How bout a new HVX or DVX to the winner. Given the amount of cameras this site has sold, who at Panasonic would be against this?

Should probably just wait on the whole camera deal. WHatever they decide will be what they decide and probably for valid reasons. Sides, this is the time to be writing great six minute scripts!

The HVX for Horrorfest came from the Generosity of Jarred Land, Barry Green, and someone else (I'm very sorry I don't remember the third person). Panasonic, to my knowledge, has never supported a Fest by offering prizes.

Man! I am in and definitely bringing it. I am working with Mark Aro on this and our entry is "Sleeper". We will be finishing up writing in the next week.

I don't have any problem with that. I don't care if it's categorized differently, the idea would be to get as many people involved that really want to participate. I still think
it should be 1/3" HD and SD only though, although I doubt we'd be in danger of having too many CineAlta, XDCAM, SI2K projects showing up to make 6 min. genre films and win a few minor prizes.

I got a question: How many people aren't doing actualy Spies? Like covert operatives?

Who's doing something that just has someone spying as part of it? Like how the name ERIC was just a part of drama fest entries. A prop.
